The Sonic seems a mite small, and the Cruze is a sedan.star_deceiver wrote:One would think that GM would be 'on the ball' with this one. Such a simple repair and it will get many people into the GM showroom.
- Say, while you're here at the dealer, why not have a seat in this new Cruze. Or how about this Sonic!
Didn't they build a bunch of Corollas at the CA factory too? So I'm thinking the Vibe should be included and that they all have the same supplier.KITT222 wrote:Remember, though, Vibe was built in a different factory. It could just be an issue with Canadian-built cars. Maybe different suppliers?
I second this.ColonelPanic wrote:
While they're at it, they should replace the switch with one that has everything illuminated.
While that may be true, you're still inside the dealer and a good salesman is going to take advantage of that! Toyota says that the repair will take about an hour... which means you probably won't be going anywhere until your car is done. Are you telling me that you're going to sit in the waiting chair and read the 3 year old copy of golf digest? Didn't think so. You'll be wandering around and planting your (removed) in a few seats! You might not be looking for a new car now, but the dealer has just planted a seed in your head.KITT222 wrote:The Sonic seems a mite small, and the Cruze is a sedan.

On certain vehicles, due to improperly applied grease, the driver’s side power window master switch could stick or become inoperative. If attempts are made to lubricate the switch, the switch assembly could overheat and melt. A melting switch may produce smoke and potentially lead to a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect the driver’s power window master switch and apply a specialized grease that inhibits heat build-up, or replace the power window master switch circuit board, as necessary.
It wouldn't be CompNine, would it?jake75 wrote:There is a website where you can put in your VIn and see total production numbers and number with the power package option.
I can't find it now.
Meh... I was just cheap! Crank window FTW!!!KITT222 wrote:It's good to be a first gen! I suppose it's also good to be a luddite with crank windows.
Seems like it's only a matter of time before we start receiving recall notices from GM...lawoman301 wrote:And they also informed me of yet another recall which I'm sure you have all heard about...the power window motor..but were unable to complete that until I receive the paper copy of the recall in the mail!!!
