Interior lights flashing on-off

Wife reports a weird deal when trying to astart her car sometimes (2004 Vibe).
The interior/dash lights start flashing on and off, on and off.
Is this some sort of alert code or trouble deal?

check your battery, and/or make sure the battery terminals are tight to the battery.

Another thought is that the rear hatch or rear hatch glass might be ajar and not fully latched.
The slight rocking motion of the starter/engine could make/break the contact, causing interior overhead lights to go on/off as well as the door indicator on the dashboard.

I've never noticed it when starting my '03, but several times over the years, I'll drive away in the dark, and the interior lights will blink on/off as I accelerate and stop until I get out and properly close the hatch or hatch glass.

Can't tell ya HOW many times I've done this. Make sure the hatch is closed properly

check the door close switches too. sometimes the screws holding them to the body work loose. this will also trigger the interior lamps to blink.

Don't forget to check the door stops on the hatch, they may be holding it open just enough.
