Which fuse is for the radio?

Post by scottstoked »

Hi . . Installed an aftermarket HU, but thinking I may have blown a fuse (the HU fuse is fine, however).

Cig lighter still works, amp still turns on (moon and tunes), but HU won't power up. Wiring is tight, but I don't have a volt meter.

Which fuse do I check in relation to the HU? It's not really clear in the owners manual other than "DOME", but my dome lights all work fine.

Thanks for any help . . I could use it ASAP! :)

In the 2003-2008 vibes the radio is powered by the CIG fuse. Don't know about the 09-10 and don't know what year you have. If you have a 03-08 and the cig lighter works then the fuse is good and it must be something else.

Thanks for the reply!

I pulled the CIG fuse and it was good. Tried two other head units and they powered up. Figured I must have a DOA Pioneer or I messed the wiring. I couldn't see anything amiss with the wiring, but I took it apart anyway and reconnected just the 12v red and the black ground (as someone recommended). Still nothing. Connected the constant 12v yellow and it fired up. I must connected the constant 12v poorly the first time. Doh.

Anyway, my new Pioneer 2400BT touchscreen it now installed! Looks great.
