Engine Cover Removal 2nd Gen Vibe

Post by Caretaker »

OK, stupid question of the day: I know that there were bolts atop my 2003 Vibe engine cover to get to the PCV valve, but how on earth does one remove the seemingly solid vinyl cover on my 2009? I have felt around for some kind of "hood latch release" but failed to figure it out.

you just pull straight up on the cover. it is only held in place by some rubber bushings.

Thanks bluneon. I'll nervously give it a try. I've had a lot of bad experiences with black plastic snaps  , especially when I broke the tabs on the door to access the cabin air filter. I tend to use very light touch when dealing with plastic parts.

again, thanks bluneon. I got the engine cover off with some resistance. Took the opportunity to clean all the dirt and grime underneath the cover and engine parts that had yet to see Mr. Clean :geek: . Now, if I could only figure out which one of the borg tenticles is the PCV valve, I'd change it. Any clue?
