For anyone interested in a cheap improvement on a base Vibe model, there's something to do with the rear end. I work in a mechanic shop and realized the AWD drums are almost identical to regular drms. The difference is the 10 log bolts holes and the integrated wheel spacer. So I installed AWD drums on my base model.
The regular vibe has a tendancy to undertseer and the rear feels much softer than the front. Plus, the rear wheels are too deep in the wheel well. So widening the rear is the way to go.
The space on the drum is 10mm. This is not much, but enough to feel the car more balanced, a bit less understeer and the wheel look like they are at the right place.
This is not all that easy to do thought. You need to replace the lob bolts too (order those from an AWD) and to do so you will need to remove the hub/bearing assembly. The AWD log bolts are too long to be installed without removing the hub/bearing assy. I you had rear wheel alignment done, it will have to be redone because the shims will fall off.
Worth it? If you have access to tools and cheap parts (lob bolt and drums), yes it is. You work your drum brakes like any other car with stock parts. Otherwise rear wheel spacer are easier.
