Hello there! First of all i'm new to the forum and i'd like to say hi to everyone! I recently purchased a 2005 pontiac vibe base model, front wheel drive automatic transmission. I love this car! It is so roomy and fun to drive! However i've already had a few issues with it. My driver side door wouldn't shut one day in the walmart parking lot. I had my dad come check it out and he found that the door check strap is pretty much shot and is slowly bending up making it impossible to shut my door. So he bent it back down which was fine for a couple weeks and then it struck again. I had my window rolled down at Sonic and I found that I couldn't open my door this time. My door wouldn't open until i rolled my window up, so apparently the door check strap is hitting my window. I'm afraid this problem is going to shatter my window! I have read about the recall on the 04 version and i'm wondering why it wasn't extended to the 05? Obviously I need a new one but they are rather expensive and I was hoping someone knew whether I could substitute the part for a matrix door check strap? Also has anyone else had this problem with an 05? Thanks for any help in advance!!

Not sure if this was the reason littleblackdogs replaced or not, but I too am seeing my window catch the check..
