Wondering how many miles folks are getting on their water pumps. I got 164K on original and wondering should I replace it for preventive maintenance or let it be?

Mine started leaking so I just changed it yesterday. 05 with 120,000 miles.
I went ahead and changed everything... hoses, thermostat, water pump.
I also changed the intake manifold gasket, cleaned the throttle body and MAF ... thinking it will help with the vibration, but really don't notice a difference.

They should last for years and loads of miles. However if you have a Vibe/Matrix with a 2.4l engine, you need to look periodically at the section of the underside of the hood on the passenger side close to the cowl around the belt area for a pink/reddish line. If you see this then look closely at the water pump pulley to see if more of the pink/reddish stuff is on it. These are the telling signs that the water pump is going bad as the coolant leaks out the weep hole of the pump and then is slung onto the underside of the hood by the belt
Toyota pulled a GM with that water pump. For more info google Toyota 2.4l engine waterpump

I never had a problem on my 2003 vibe with about 180k. Using Toyota SLLC coolant is fairly important, as it keeps the water pump lubricated with molybdenum.
