Torsion Bar Search

Post by xTiaanx »

I'm looking for a better Torsion bar for my 2004 base vibe. Hoping someone could post a link? don't want to lower the car, but still want a stiffer ride for better handling. Thanks!

Progress and TRD currently have rear sway bars for the 03-08 Vibe/Matrix.
The "Hotchkis Sport Suspension Sway bar set" (the only way to get an aftermarket front bar) has been discontinued for sometime, but it appears they still have a few in stock on their ebay site.

http://www.hotchkis.net/_uploaded_files ... 84file.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (install pdf)

I've got the Progress one, and I've been really happy with it. Dialed out a lot of the under-steer.

If I where to do it again, I would buy the hotchkis set.

I assume you are talking about sway bars. In any case, you would do better to go to the Handling, Suspension, & Brakes forum, than here.

I recently installed a Toyota TRD sway bar set for a Matrix on my '04 base model. Its a lot of work. You have to drop the front subframe to install a new front bar.

The TRD set is made by Hotchkiss for Toyota, probably why it was removed from the Hotchkiss catalog.

I documented the installation in this thread. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=38341
