What's happening Folks

Post by goodvibesGT »

Hello Everyone. I have a 2009 Vibe GT in silver and have owned it for two trouble free years. I bought it at a dealer with 60K on it for 12,000. I traded in 1999 CRV with 200K on it. At the time nobody in the area wanted a Vibe and so he gave me 1500 off to move it off the lot. I always use Mobile 1 products in it, try to keep it clean, and I lost three of the center hubs on the 18's over the winter. I just bought 4 new Eagles for her too.

I also have a 2001 Mercury Sable that rides well but requires more maintenance than the Vibe ;)

My question is what maintenance should be done to the Vibe at 82K? It seems like a relatively easy car to maintain. Tune up? I'm planning on taking her to Sesame Street Place PA in late June maybe.

Thanks
:D

welcome to genvibe

If you don't know when it was done, probably a good idea to change the transmission fluid and the engine coolant.

Other than that, follow the maintenance schedule in the owners manual. If you don't have an owners manual, you can download one as a PDF file from the Owners Manual PDF thread

Yip, did tranny fluid to maintain 100K warranty at 65K. I guess I could do the coolant and plugs, but I think they are good for 100K if I'm correct. Cabin Air Filter? I am correct about plugs and coolant?

Welcome! We gained another Silver GT :D ! I've not done any maintenance on mine except oil changes, tire rotations, new brakes, etc... I'm currently close to 93,000 miles. I'll plan on getting a tune up next time I take it in for an oil change.

Welcome to GenVibe! Glad to hear you've had no issues with your 2nd gen GT over the past 2 years. Post some pictures of it when you get a chance.

Thanks. I'll post pics in near future. I did swap out my cabin filter yesterday with an STP from autozone off the shelf 16.95. The cabin filter was pretty dirty to say the least. It took about 5 min to swap. I remember in my old CRV I scraped my hands up just getting at the dang thing - half between the glove box and center console. I had to pull corner of plastic console back with one hand and use ratchet with the other to get the saftey bar off to access teh filter! Two+ hours of fighting. :?
