Heard a taping sound through my opened window. When I got to the store, there was a 8d nail in the tread of my rear tire, perhaps an inch into the tire and the rest was bent 90 degrees over and flat on to the tread. The tire did not have a flat. I took it to the Tire shop (STS) when they pull the nail out I guess the air came out. They removed the tire AND patched it from the inside. Cost $25.00 and they computer balanced the tire as well.Just decided to tell you this story that happened today.
That's too bad. But at least you didn't hit some trash on the road with nails in it pointing up, that pulled right back out letting all the air out. I was able to miss it with one tire, but it caught the right rear one on my son's car. And of course I was right at a point where there was no exit from the freeway, so I had to drive over a mile to get off - no way would I ever stop on our freeways to change a tire. The tire was smoking hot! Had to let it cool off before I could remove it.Ended up buying a new tire.We are lucky to have Discount Tire stores around us. They do free flat repairs for anyone, hoping you will remember and become a customer.
