DIY Car Alarm for $8.95

Post by chadhgraves »

Ok, so it's not a real car alarm, but how would you know that if you were looking in my car windows at night. I bought this fake alarm for my Vibe to make a thief at least think twice and maybe move to an easier target. It's a battery powered red LED that blinks when you turn it on. The battery pack has an on/off switch and you don't have to worry about running electricity to it. I bought it off ebay and installed it myself. I drilled a hole in one of the blank cover panels on the side of the dash where the coin holder and security light usually go. Seated the light in it and ran the wires down into the little pop open holder to the left of the steering wheel. Looks real to me. Just flip the switch on when you get out and it looks like your car is armed. It's pretty bright too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/180812..._1186
