2012 Dodge Calibers

Post by jake75 »

I got a LOF for my T&C today. Used the last of 4 LOF's on a Service Contract I bought 2 years ago for $40. My Chrysler-Dodge dealer has 37 - 2012 Dodge Calibers in stock. I wonder what kind of a deal Chrysler made him to take all that inventory. Chrysler is running another LOF Service contract deal - 4 LOF's for $60, contract expires in 2 years from purchase date.

Whats a LOF? Are you considering buying a Caliber? My stepdaughter has a 2007 Caliber. I cant stand driving it. Cheap plastic interior, car just feels like mush on the road. The only thing I like is the factory stereo LOL

I thought 2011 was going to be the last year for the Caliber but perhaps 2012 is.

2012 is the last... The last one rolled off the line around Christmas. The dealers seem to have a ton of these things in general, it looks like they can't move 'em. Perhaps a better transmission option instead of the CVT, respectable fuel economy and nicer interior materials might have helped sales. Never have understood why they replaced the Neon with a hatchback either. Its replacement is the upcoming Alfa Romeo based 2013 Dart that will be revealed in Detroit in a few days. Which I have to admit looks very promising from what few teaser shots they've released. Lots of neat tech and a nice surrounding for the occupants. At the very worst, it's gotta be light years ahead of the Caliber.

Give it a few years and Caliber will be dirt cheap. I sat in one at the Minneapolis auto show and was quite unimpressed. Tiny cargo floor, chunky styling inside and out, and crap quality. My dad abhors the thing whenever he has the misfortune of renting one.

Hmm, I drove a rented one from grand island Nebraska out to grays harbor Washington and back, drove it like I stole it and enjoyed every moment of it. I wanted one for myself right up to the moment I (re)discovered the Vibe. That said, I'm glad I picked the vibe!

Even the used Pontiac Aztek's seem to be high priced today.

37 is a lot of Calibers for one dealer. Are they made anywhere nearby?4 LOFs for $60 is a good deal if you've got the time to have the dealer do it. Engine oil has gotten really expensive lately

It typically takes less than 1 hour at the dealer. They have a comfortable waiting room and I always bring something I want to read. I just don't trust the likes of Jiffy Lube etc. [And once in awhile there is come candy in the waiting room - on last visit it was some eye candy oh to be young again! ]
