Not sure what to call it,but i've got a 2004 vibe, and the other day we started it up and it had a loud heavy clicking noise behind the glove box.I pulled the glove box out,and it was the little arm that opens and closes the recirculation flap on the fan,it kept "clicking" or slipping, and wouldn't stop.I unpluged it and it stopped. But now the recirculation flap won't stay closed all the way and the fan loses suction and blowing power since it's open a little..Im not sure what to call it.Im describing it the best I can.Can someone shed a little more light on the subject?
I had the same problem with my vibe, but it ended up being the button its self. I replaced it and all was well. try pressing it in just a bit when the clicking starts and see if it stops.
Help - I have a 2005 Vibe with the same problem. I am sorry guys but I am unable to figure out how to disconnect the power to the servo. I see 2 wires and a connector going into the left hand side of the housing. The right of the connector is bluish colored. I cannot get the darn thing out.
There is a tab on the wire end that snaps on to the actuator end. You can pry it up from the side with a small thin screwdriver.
I just tried the spin-the-gears fix but it's still making a clicking noise. Just left it unplugged and in the fresh air setting until I can figure it out.
Figured out my problem. The gear teeth were torn up but also one of the gear posts had broken off. Hammered a nail through in place of the post and it's working great again.
I had to take the radio out in order to get the top screw off. My 1/4 ratchet wouldn't fit up top so I poked a nut driver through the radio access to reach it. Had to use a nut driver along with about 8" of extensions and a u-joint. Do yourself a favor when putting it back and just put the top screw in finger tight.
