Michelin Stealth vipers - avoid

Post by vit »

Picked up a set for my 2010. The short one on passenger side works fine, but the 26" long viper on left is not working well. Cleans OK on the up stroke, going down leaves the whole middle untouched.

I've tried many beam wipers, big names, no names. Honestly I'm slowly morphing back into the old tried and true wiper blade of old. I just put on a pair with the rubber boots for the winter on one car.The beam wipers aren't at all worth the money invested. They don't press evenly, the end caps fall off, etc.I'm willing to shell out premium $$'s for a premium product, but beam blades are sadly NOT the premium product they'd like you to think that they are!!I tried them, I'll not make that mistake again anytime soon!!Dave

I've had the Bosch Icons and they sucked as well. I think it may be the monstrous size of the driver side wiper. I like that the second gen Vibes look like beam blades, but really aren't. I stick with stock. They are great!

The Bosch Icons work great on my 2007 T&C. I bought the Rain X latitudes for the Vibe. No real reason for the switch - they were reasonable at amazon.com and had good reviews. Like those a lot.

We still have our original OEM wiper blades on both our Vibes. They still work great, but I am going to be replacing them very soon since they're pushing three years old. I will be sticking with the OEM inserts.

Interesting, as I cannot keep track of how many pairs of Trico monobeams that have been sold and last for 1-2 seasons. I don't think folks properly clean their windshield or use the wipers to clean some substances that require a different technique.
