So my brother got promoted at work recently and bought a decent looking 1966 Mustang. It does have some blemishes being so old but it is very drivable and the minor things it needs are easily fixedIt has the mighty(read with sarcasm) 200 cubic inch I6 (with 120HP) but the engine is good and can come out for a 289 if need be in the future.
It looks like it is in good shape, but I can really see the "secretary's car" aspect in the I6 and coupe layout. No offense meant, it really is a neat car.
The wheels came with the car from the former owner. Eventually original rims with the period hubcaps will be sourced The engine will be leaving quick enough once I get the time and nice weather to source and put the engine in. I am thinking 289The I6 is a great engine in a F100 pickup or the Falcon but not for a car that evokes freedom like the original mustang. But finding a good condition car was key. Most folks want mad money for crap condition mustangs. This one landed on his lap practically and for a great price It is a good project car to screw with
Sweet,a 351W will bolt right in there, the Cleveland wont without modifien the shock towers. http://home-and-garden.webshot...arden1 of my old 65 2+2's with a351 transplanta few of my past vettes in that album also

Nice! One of these days, but probably not for a while, I hope to buy a 65 fastback. My dad bought one as their new "family" car when I was born in 65. Wish he hadn't sold it, but I was only 11 at the time. I may just build a "new" one if they introduce a complete 65 fastback body, since I would restomod it anyway. Good luck to him on it.

And I had a few when I was in school, but let em go over time. Took me 25 years but I was finally able to pick up another muscle car. My daughters are smarter than I was, they're 10 and already telling me I can never sell it because they plan on driving it! LOL!

Maybe I can work the twin thing to get "the boss" to let me get another project car when we finish this one ...you know we don't want the kids to have to fight over the same car right? LOL!
