im thinking 2003 ( less cost) for me it needs to be reiable to make a 2000 mile one way trip 11/13/2011

2003 are nice (but of course I'm kinda biased ) I'm not quite sure what kind of advice you are looking for, though.

Even the the 2wd does good in the snow so you will be all good with awd. So where are you going.
