sk8r78 04 Base

Post by sk8r78 »

This car had an adventurous life prior to my owning it. It was wrecked and rebuilt in Fla. then used as a Taxi in Colorado Springs, CO. for a couple years and thats where I bought it from for $1600. I purchased this car to drive through the winter months so I wouldn't have to remove my Summer wheels and irreplacable body parts. It was originally Shadow gray, painted Taxi yellow and then the blue you see now. the latest paint was of the High quality $49.99 Earl Schiebe special, since in CO. taxi's have to be painted any other color than yellow before selling. It had 207,000 on the odometer and it was in pretty rough shape it spent some time transporting hay to horses also, cuz I found hay in every nook and cranny and under the back seats. Anyway, since I have owned my Matrix, I had always thought if I ever owned a Vibe there were a few things I would do to it and since this one was in perfect shape to be a Guinea pig. I shook , rattled and sprayed my way to this

I like that shade of blue, and the black accents are really fitting. Nice job! That really is quite the adventure for that Vibe.

LOVE the black accents. They look really nice. The black under the headlights makes him look like he hasn't slept in days though. lol

That looks awesome! I have a two tone and a few of your black bumper accents I've thought about doing red- and my hubby suggested to me while I was plasti dipping things the rings around the eyes and highlights on the tails... Nice to see it manifested! Your vibe is gorgeous!

Thanx for the comments everyone. These really aren't difficult to accomplish. I used Rustoleum Satin finish, it has sheen, not shine. I suppose I could write up a how to, to help anyone out that would like to do this, or you could send me a PM I no longer have the Vibe. But its still in the familyand right down the road from me. I sold it to my brother , who was the one that drove it back from CO. when I bought it. He liked it so much, I couldn't, not sell it to him. I fixed all its issues prior to selling it. In the pics the foglights were out of they're sockets but I had bought new ones for it

I think putting some body color on the gray would look good. Using Plasti Dip would be a good way to test first to see if it is what you are expecting, then use paint.
