09 Cargo Box interfers with antenna

The way our roof rack (factory toyota) and the Thule cargo box sits it prevents the use of the factory antenna. We have removed it but of course loose the radio signal. Has anyone come up with a threaded adapater or different antenna that would work?

Many people go to the Honda 9" antenna, but not to solve an issue with the roof rack. I don't think anyone has a solution for that problem. You could get creative.
