computer issues 03 vibe

Post by vibe13 »

my trans shifts a little to hard and the mechanic say it that it might be the computer ? he say that he checks vibes all the times with the same problem so my question is if i buy a vibe gt computer and get on my viibe 03 base will everything be good ?

I don't think a GT (2zz engine) PCM will work in a Base (1zz Engine). I believe any Vibe 03-04 1zz PCM should work, maybe even a PCM out of a 03-04 1zz Corolla/Matrix may work. 05+ is DBW so I know they will not work. How many miles are on the Tranny? Maybe it's failing? When the last time you had the Fluid changed and how does it look and smell (really)? Although the PCM maybe a cheap easy fix.

I would say if you have 165K now and havent changed the tranny fluid since 78K...that could be a problem. What does the tranny fluid look like? Dark? Does it smell burnt? Thats a clear indication that the fluid hasnt been changed...
