new guy

Post by cj847 »

I recently bought a vibe as a commuter car and really like it. Wish I would have bought a nicer one now. Anyway, I've been lurking around and really appreciate the website as it as helped with maintenance questions. The vibe is a 2004 with 162k miles on it already. Never wrecked but the previous owner was a slob. Completely took the interior out and cleaned it up good, changed all fluids, etc. Still a few things to do but it runs great and looks OK now.

Yeh - pictures are very important. When I had a day job there was a guy there who was totally incompetent but he survived layoff after layoff. Rumor was that he had pictures of the Chief Executive Officer of the company with a goat - or something like that..

Like Hawkeye and Trapper posing the hooker w/the Delegate's right-hand man.But not so funny... Welcome to GenVibe, and as has already been stated, this is a very visual community. Pics are required. That fact that you recognize that the previous owner was a slob is a step in the right direction, I would say.

New guy update

Post by cj847 »

Well I finally took a pic or two (after some clean up of course). Attached are the side view and then a before and after view of my headlights (used 3M restore kit). Worked fantastic. This thing has 163k miles. So far I have:-Changed oil-Changed trans fluid (complete flush)-Changed coolant including removing radiator and flushing it, block, and heater core.-Completely removed and cleaned/detailed the interior (thanks Phsyco Martyr).-Restored headlights-Repainted rims and wheelcovers-Repainted interior silver plastic pieces on dash and doors.-Several other little things I can't think of right now.Planning soon:-Tune up-Replace tensioner and belt-Tighten up front bumper, wheel wells, etc (seems don't look right - probably need to replace some plastic clips etc).-Polish/Buff/Wax exterior.http://rides.webshots.com/phot...cQqIlh ... ot...Zpjdr
