hello all, new to the forums, heres my problem,I go to use my washers on my car and it doesnt have even half the pressure that it did the previous day, so i figure its the pump and I replace it, no dice, I pull the entire hose out and make sure its not clogged, no go, I pull the sprayers out and as a member said in another topic roughly about the same thing I soak them for an hour in hot soapy water then push a needle into the holes, still no good, I even tried puttin a 25 amp fuse instead of 15 and still nothin, I am out of ideas, any help would be appreciated,I live in cali so its not frozen or anything, my wife moved back to Iowa while I was deployed through the winter, but Im only recently havin problems with it, also its a 2004 AWD
Clogged intake screen in the tank that protects the pump,There are fittings in the hose run, they may be clogged,The hose may be compromised and has collapsed for some reason, try installing new hose. You are using molasses instead of washer fluid?Good luckDave
I replaced the pump and when I had it out I washed the inside of the tank out, there wasnt anything in there, and I pulled the entire hose out and cleaned it, still nothin, it wasnt kinked or bound up, the only thing that I can think of next is a voltage issue, but Im not sure where to begin from there
What happens if you pull the hose off of the nozzles? Does it come out strong or dribble out?The nozzles may be the problem if you get a good stream out of the disconnected hose.Dave
pretty strong stream when disconnectd from the sprayers, I cleaned them as best I could, soakin them in hot water and runnin a needle through themm but that didnt work
Im prolly gonna use my only other option tomorrow and get some new sprayers from oreillys and see how they work since its only 16 bucks for a set, any other ideas are appreciated and thanks for the help so far
Do you have compressed air? Try a shot of air backwards into the tiny orfices. This should clear any lodged in place dirt and restore your nozzles to proper operation (have the hose off when you do this)Dave
figured it out finally, feel like an idiot too, there is a connector right at the corner of the fender where it goes to another hose to split to the the sprayers, I would disconnect it there and test pressure and it would have a great stream, hook it up nothin, well long story short and several hours of frustration, that previously mentioned connector had a nozzle in it that bas like 1 of the nozzles on the sprayer, no idea why, thanks for the ideas and help though
