Lodging in the Finger Lakes of NY

Post by djkeev »

So, we are planning a trip this Fall up to the NY Finger Lake Region. Canandaigua area to be more precise. We have reservations on the Fall Foliage tour out or Shortsville NY.We like either top notch, new, shiny, cutting edge lodging OR.....We like old funky, cabins, isolated, but CLEAN lodging. For those who live in this region, any suggestions for good lodging? Not looking to spend BIG BUCKS but am willing to spend above average for a quality lodging.Dave

I did find a "reasonably" priced place in Canandaigua on cyberrentals.com if $1600 a week isn't too much for a 3 bedroom place.Chalet rental in Canandaigua, New York - Charming Mountain Chalet Overlooking Canandaigua Lake - Property 207117I was a bit appauled by the prices I saw on vrbo.com If you don't need that much space Dave, always go to tripadvisor.com and see what they recommend. I just did, and there are some mom-pop hotels in Canandaigua for less than half of the cost per night than the above Chalet. Also Dave, the Homewood Suites in the town of Victor off I-90 looks great. You'd have to drive the 15 miles each way to Canandaigua each day however.

If you don't mind being like an hr away I'd say The Fine Thread in Hammondsport on Keuka Lake. They are great people and run a great Bed and Breakfast.
