Unexpectedly Furloughed from work... time for overdue maintenance

Was told by my manager that her manager told her to give me the day off since I'm working Saturday... >insert grumblings about lost overtime herebut now I have a day to tackle all the things that need doing to the Vibe... >switch to rambly to-do list mode1) oil change2) spark plugs3) replace passenger tail light4) wash5) install car seat6) replace gear shift light7) install 12v socket in armrest8) fix radio backlightsI've done the oil change on my own before. No worries there.I've researched spark plug instructions here a couple times (walkthrough with pictures would be GREAT) and I guess it's doable. ($40 parts plus maybe $20 tools and meh. might to go the shop anyway to get oil & plugs changed because I would need to clear out to garage to have a place to work. I don't have All day & can't afford to not have a working car tomorrow.

Sparkplugs are easy to change on the Vibe.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think I'll ask the parts-store guy for advice to make sure I get all the materials in one go... I can clean the garage and swap the tail-light while waiting for the engine to cool... off I go!

Like K-NINE said, spark plugs are fairly simple. Just don't over tighten them and be sure to use anti-seize.

They are simple. I did them with my hubby, and that's coming from a girl who had no idea what a coil pack was before I took off the engine cover, LOL.

Garage is cleared enough...Vibe washed & vacuumedTail light replaced.Car seat is actually just a booster seat. Easy!Gear shift light looking like too serious a project for right now.... I'll push off the 12v socket install along with it...Bought (from o'reilly) NGK spark plugs, socket & extension, anti-seize, lamps = $43.34Now how long does it take an engine to cool? How do I know it's cool? Don't suppose it's like checking if a frying pan is hot by flicking water on it...Thanks for the info ou.grizzly! And thanks Rasermon for taking those pics!
