We drove out to DC yesterday, spent the night in Arlington and picked up our new Neptune '04 today. My wife's brother was the 1st and only owner, and the car is pretty well tip top. 126k miles on it, very well maintained and came with a few extras. We're now officially a dual Vibe family On the way there, in West Union, WV:Somewhere in Maryland:On the way back, just outside of DC:My lovely wingman:Pretty clean interior, could use a good scrubbing. I dig my new floormats (oddly enough, I helped my father-in-law pick these very mats out as a gift to my brother-in-law a few Christmases ago and now they're mine Tried to grab some rolling shots with a killer stormy sunset brewing, but I kind of suck at shooting photos with one hand while driving. At one point, without really thinking about it, I tried to frame up a shot and realized I was driving through the viewfinder of my camera I love the cluster on this car so much more than the gross all-orange light color scheme that the GT has:These were shot at Sideling Hill rest area on I-68 in Maryland, some of you may know it. By chance, we parked next to another Vibe and had us a little mini-rally.

Get rid of the front plate Nice pair of Vibes Also you have a "wing WOMAN" who doesn't mind being part of a photo shoot Mine runs the other way when the camera is around Enjoy the Vibe(s)

Our GT came from Ohio, and the new Neptune came from VA so both had a front plate at one point. I've kept the front bracket on up to this point thinking I might paint something custom on a blank but I think I'd rather just shave 'em. And my lady is a good sport and humors her dorky husband when he wants to shoot pictures to share with the internets. Looks waaaaay better than yours truly posing for the camera

Quick update, got everything on the new car inspected, registered, insured, etc today. While swapping the plates, I went ahead and removed the front plate bracket, only to find some gnarly looking screw holes beneath The gray around each hole is some kind of rubbery material that I'll need to go at with some goo gone. In the end, though, I'll still need to sort out these holes. Looking into some options now, staying mum on which until I get some info from a particular seller on Ebay. I took the bracket off of our silver car and the holes are even worse, all jagged and gross looking (and more noticeable against the silver at that). I put that one back on until I find a solution. On the down side, I have a million and a half paint chips in the blue paint on the hood. May be repainting that completely rather than dabbing on a thousand drops of touch up paint On the upside, the new West Virginia plates match the Neptune blue *perfectly*. It's a little brighter here due to the flash, but in person it's seamless. The yellow accents look nice against the blue as well, I may carry that over into some vinyl badge overlays.

I think Carrie has sorted out the plate holes before on her and her mom's Vibes before, so she may be the go-to person as far as that goes. Or something like what the Matrix owners do - a little metal bit with Matrix cut out of it which mounts to those holes. Is there any paint fade in that spot?By the way, you are (so far) the only person I know who wants to accent their car by their license plates. For me, the license plates just exist. Nothing more, nothing less. Then again the blue, white and gold tabs are noticeable against their silver backing, and there isn't much I can do about that!

Those brackets retain road dirt pretty well. And it's not so much that I *want* to match my car to my plate, but in this case it works pretty well
