Best place for tweeters in a component system?

Post by cptnsolo77 »

Im going to be installing a set & just wondering where to place the tweeter to get the best imaging. I have seen some owners mount them up high ( by the door handles ) OR low ( 1 - 2 inches above the woofer ). These will be installed the rear by the way. I have these on order: http://www.sonicelectronix.com....html. They are free though my debit card points. Not what I really wanted but its free. Plus my rear right speaker is starting to buzz. I really wanted the PolkDB 6501s but I dont want to spend $200 bucks right now LOL.

Since they are in the rear just mount them as close to the woofer as possible while still looking good. Rear should be for fill anyways. Its the front were imaging matters alot more.

You're putting tweeters in the rear? Not sure why you would do that...If you mean in the front, here's my suggestion:

Is putting tweeters in the rear a bad idea?

No not if you already paid for them. Its mainly the front where your imaging is important. In the back as long as they are on axis and dont over power the front you'll be fine.

That should be pretty easy. All I have to do is use the fader if it does overpower the front.
