Complete Newbie Question

Post by Pharylon »

Hey, first time poster here. I have an '09 Vibe with a stereo problem. Recently the auxiliary audio jack started misbehaving. Only the right speaker plays unless I put pressure on the plug, pushing it up at the base. Now, obviously, the connection in there is lose and I feel like I could bend some stuff back to get a solid connection if only I could pull my stereo out...But I have no idea how to do that. The stereo is very flush, and I have no experience. So how do I do this? How do I get the damn thing out?

Pull the trim around the headunit loose. It will still be hooked at the top. Swing the bottom out and lift up. It should come right out. You'll see the four screws that hold the headunit in. When (not if ) you drop one of the right side screws, you can pull the cubby out above the glove box to reach it. And welcome to GenVibe!

LOL. Man that is so true. "When not if" When I saw that it made me laugh. Those 4 screws are a beast.
