Just got my new tires delivered today :-)

Post by rmlmt »

I just got my new tires delivered to my house for my car today, only two days after ordering them online.. Check out http://www.tires-easy.com if your ever in need of new tires.. I saved $90 bucks from the cheapest quote I could get from any shop in town for the same exact tires, and that's including shipping.. I also, didn't have to pay any tax or extra tire disposal fees that typical shops charge you.. Can't wait till I take them to my Mechanic on Monday to get them installed..:-) *Fusion HRi 205/55 R16 91H (I Paid $339.00 including Shipping) * All season performance * Stylish asymmetric tread pattern * H speed rated * Reinforced twin steel belt construction * UTQG 400 A-A * 40,000 mile limited treadwear warranty (see manufacturer's website for details)The reason I chose this tire was 1) I replaced a blown out tire with this type a while ago, and after 2 and a half years it still looks like a new tire with very little tread wear on it and has performed well for me on wet roads. 2) These are made by Bridgestone/Firestone 3) the price was right for my budget.. I'll give you guys an update after I've racked up a few thousand miles on these tires to let you know If I would recommend them

And service after the sale will be provided by.........????....... some invisible keyboard somewhere? There is a lot of good to be said for shopping at a local tire store that wants to service you and make your ownership a positive experience.Even IF a local shop will help you with some warranty problem, they may not be there next year because you shopped online based on price alone. Best of luck to you. Dave

Dave when was the last time you needed a tire replaced? In the 2decades of driving I have done, I've only had to have two tires replaced. One I bought it at a local shop who denied the warranty. Most shops will just say it's not a manufacture defect so you need to buy a new tire.If I get a flat. I have my own plug repair kit that I have used several times so I don't need to wait hrs for a service person to put in a plug I can do it in 5 mins.As for the treadwear warranty, please.... I bought a set of tires from tirerack and had to have the tire replaced they made me jump threw hoops for the claim and I even bought their tire warranty. It's not even a tirerack warranty it's done threw a third party company. In the end I got 20bucks on a tire that cost 89 bucks and had 5000 miles on it. The treadwear was rated for 50,000 miles.I've bought several tires from tireeasy. Never had an issue.Nice enjoy

Maybe I've just got a good local tire dealer?? Never have any problems with getting any issues resolved, they are happy to see me and help me as well. I do run about 6 vehicles through them so I am a frequent flyer in their store.Dave

possible, i've delt with sears, jack williams, pep boys and strauss discount auto,Bj'swholesale club all are quick to do a rotation and sell me on everything under the sun just not tires... most shops don't do just tires anymore... I only know one place about 10mins from me that deals in nothing but tires and batteries. I went there once never again the owner is a total racist.

I have had bad luck as well with trying to make a warranty claims. So I just make it a general rule to just buy something of good quality to begin with regardless what kind of warranty is included.. I use to have a car with a Die-Hard battery that would die every 2½ years, usually just after the free replacement period.. Of course it had a warranty, and Sears would be more than happy to pro-rate the replacement battery so I would save maybe 15 bucks off the cost of a new one. But I was losing money and time from having to miss work and wait at the shop.. So after the second time I just said screw the warranty, bought an Interstate battery, and that battery gave me 6 years of trouble free service. I don't need a warranty to feel "Warm & Fuzzy" inside.. Besides you need to be a lawyer to be able to read it.. This is the 40,000 tread-mile warranty that comes with the tires I bought, which I'm sure is not much different from most tire warranties when it comes to all the exclusions and unrealistic conditions you need to meet to make a claim..http://www.thefuzionzone.com/fz_warranty.asp http://www.tires-easy.com/Road...s.pdfSo for me I'll stick with a good plug repair kit and continue to decline the box that says "Check here if you would like to add the road hazard warranty for an additional 10 Dollars per tire"

Just got back from getting the tires installed at the shop and taking the car out on the highway to see how the new tires feel.. I'm thrilled so far with how they feel on the road and look on my car.. And with the money I saved with getting them on-line I went ahead and had them do an alignment as well.. Feels like I'm driving a new car again..

I totally agree with you Dave, Ive bought many tires from online only to be left in the dark when I needed them, even with the warranty Ive bought. On the other hand discount tire have repaired my tire for free, and have a great warranty service. Amazing place.... They also price match so I cant think of any better place to buy. I do patch my tire when I have a flat but when I get a chance I take it to the shop to get it plugged from the inside. Keith, its a small price to pay to fix your tire right. Actually like I said Discount tire has fixed my tires for free over and over.
