first time ever quitting a job!!!

Post by silverbullet »

I'm kind of excited so I just want to share. For the past two years I have been working a second job part time that not only do I like way better, but gives me more hours and already started me off making more than I did at my original job after working four years, which is at a grocery store. The biggest raise I ever got was fifty cents, but that was only to bring me up to minimum wage. Everything besides that was ten, fifteen, or twenty five cents. I already got a dollar raise at the new job and another should be coming soon enough, and we get LOTS of hours. So I finally get to go into the grocery store in a couple hours and put in my two weeks notice and go full time at the new job. This will be my first time ever quitting a job. My first job farmer jack went out of buisiness, chicken shack did not like me so I only lasted a week, lol. And now I've been working at kroger ever since. so hopefully this means I will get enough extra money and be able to get a supercharger! Actully the gf needs a new car first. She says I can get a supercharger after she gets a new car. I know I'm ramblimg but I'm excited, I'm moving at the end of the month and I am house shopping now! Lots of crazy stuff going on

Congrats on the move and you won't regret it. The last job that I quit, back in 1993, I took a $7.85/hr pay cut to take this particular job. Now before you say I'm nuts or something, lets travel back up to the present day, 18 years later here in 2011. I'm now earning $29/hr more today than when I started. The old saying that you must take "one step back - two steps forward" really applied to me at that time. Nooooooooo regrets whatsoever taking the path that I did. I hope you can have similar success
