So excited about the car. An American car with Toyota's reputation for reliability? I was sold. It's too bad the Pontiac brand is gone. I probably would've considered getting a new one. It's a black 2010 2.4L base model, automatic. My first car buying experience! Hope I didn't get ripped off too badly. I plan to use it mostly for fun trips like to snowboarding or hiking. So far I've figured that I'll need to get floor mats to keep the floor clean. Any other basic tips/things I should do/know, either for cars in general or Vibe-specific? How does it drive in snow and unpaved roads? Sorry if these questions have been answered a million times. I haven't read many other threads yet. I'm just excited to have a car that legally belongs to me.
Welcome! Congrats on your first 'real' car! I guess this would be my 'legal' first real car too.. Can't help much with snow.. Mine does good with no special winter tires. It only snows like 3-4 times a year and I can drive in it in the Vibe. I do not like taking my Vibe down gravel roads, thats about as much off roading that I've done lol. The bumper clips are borken on one side of the front bumper, so I would like to keep it from falling off !!
Welcome to Genvibe, Jen. Congrats on the Vibe! Your first real car is always exciting. Driving in snow depends on how much snow you usually get and if you have snow tires for it or just all-season. If you don't get more than 6" of snow in any given storm you will be fine with decent all-season tires. If you get more than that you might want to invest in some snow tires on steelies. A lot also, depends on HOW you drive. Enjoy the site!!

Welcome aboard Unsunken. Check out Star_Deceiver's videos, his Vibe seems to tear it up on compact snow, but I believe he has studs on his winter tires.Washington, my home state. High five!
Welcome! I'm sure you got a good deal, the prices for Vibes seem to be a bit artificially low, I suppose because Pontiac no longer exists.

Welcome and congrats on your new Vibe! My Vibe is my very first car and my only one at the moment. As for things you should know...I'd start off by saying to go through these threads and learn how to do basic maintenance on your Vibe, such as replacing headlight bulbs when they go out and changing the air filters (engine and cabin). It's amazingly quick and easy to do these things (much easier than I thought!), and you'll save a good bit of money. The guys and gals know soooo much about Vibes and even cars in general. The search is a great tool as plenty of knowledge has been shared over the years, but even if you can't find a topic never be afraid to ask a question; nobody rips heads off here.I can't wait to see pics as well!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm waiting 'til the rain stops to take some pics. Will definitely spend the next few days going through old threads. Looks likes there's tons of good info here!
