No left side sound

Post by Mr Magoo »

I have a problem with the speakers on the left side of the car, front and back. I basically have a very weak signal. If I press my ear to the front left I can hear a little sound. I'm not sure anything is coming from the back. Original stereo had this issue and now the new one does too. Any ideas?

Do you have the moon & tunes stock amp? Maybe there's a problem with the left output on the amp?

What do you mean old and new? New aftermarket stereo or factory replacement? I would think it's a problem AFTER the unit, if it's done it with 2 different units..

It is a factory replacement. Definitely after the unit. Bad ground? Never been wrecked.

Maybe the speaker wires themselves are grounded out somewhere.

hard to say.. about the only thing I could say would be to remove the HU and remove the speakers from the left side and ohm out the lines with a meter.. maybe there is a pinch on the wire?

I am having the same problem w/ 04 Vibe. No bass and very little volume from left speakers. Any luck on a fix?

Well, it turns out both speakers were bad. Replaced both and now all is well.
