So I set out today to install my new stereo goodies. All went well until I got to the doors. I've never ran speaker wire into doors before and just assumed I would find access to the rubber boot that the wires run through hiding behind the trim panel. What I found was one large white plastic wiring plug, doohhhh!!!Any suggestions? I'm strongly considering making an appointment to pay someone else finish this up. All I have left to do is run speaker wire and install the door speakers.
yeah, if you don't want to put with through the door, you can wire up to behind the HU and use the stock wires into the door.. Everything is becoming PNP, and the doors are a perfect example I see, a molex plug in the door jam (common over the years) so it's simple to plug it in and hang the door..
I think what the op is describing are all the connectors behind the kick panels, not molex in the doors (mine doesn't have molex). You can disconnect the ones that go to the doors, and pull the rubber boot out of the door jamb. Once you do that, you should be able to get the connectors to come through the hole where the boot was (one at a time). Then, pull your speaker wire out through the hole. You may need an electrician's fish tape or a coat hanger to pull the wires through the boot, as it's kind of crowded in there. Be careful not to poke holes in the boot. I fought with the driver's side for a while before I figured that out. The passenger side took only minutes to do.
