Well guys, here is one time a stick shift won't pay off.I was working out at the Gym tonight and managed to drop a 45 pound weight on my foot (quite a common accident I hear). Needless to say, I fractured my big toe, needed 9 stiches... 6 under the toe nail to close up a huge laceration, and 3 to put the toe nail back on. I am in a lot of pain right now, but the vicadin's will be kicking in soon. If I can drive by Saturday, I'll still be at the Michigan meet, just probably not all day like I was planning on. This also means my car won't be all shinny and clean, because I can hardly walk as of right now.Don't worry though, the car is ok, and I'll be comfortably numb in about 20 minutes
That's too bad what happened to your toe. Could be worse. I worked in an E.R. for 9 years and have seen many of accidents like yours. The 'best' one was a pan of frozen lasagna that happened to shear off the tip of 3 toes.Keep off your feet for the next few days, elevate, ice, and take your meds. And use some antibiotic ointment 2 times a day and wear your hardsole shoe. But I'm sure you were told that already.

Sorry about that. It could have been worse. Lots worse. A hell of a lots worse. Maybe you're just too young to know this. You'll find out, though Glad you're ok, so to speak. None of that is a good excuse for not having your Vibe in good shape, though. It's a VIBE, for crying out loud, and NOTHING gets in the way.
ouch.. bet the pain killers are kicking in now. i've been outside a lot this week but today it's supposed to rain so i hope when i go to the gym same thing doesn't happen too me. maybe i'll just swim some laps too be safe.

Man that stinks! I'm glad it wasn't any worse than it was. Be sure not to do too much celebrating Friday night while on Vicodin. The hydrocodone in that doesn't mix to well with alcohol.Glad to see that you will still be able to make it to the meet.

Oxycontin is a heck of a lot more potent than Vicodin is. Highly addictive as well. That's the one you hear about in the news all the time. People selling it and stuff.

I've got some Vicodin and Tylenol 3's. Either one works really good. Houston, I'll probably just have to drive it thru this car wash in Lake Orion that will vacuum, wash, and clean all the windows/dash for you. It costs like 8 bucks, but hey, they do a dang good job cause they towel dry it for ya too. The pain is incredible still, and I didn't go to work today. I'm pretty much stuck on the couch for the day, watching TV and DVD's. Thanks guys for the well wishes... Hopefully I'll still be there Saturday.

I don't mean to slight you, my friend. Fact is that maybe at my older age i've just gotten used to defending myself against young people like you. This happens all the time, you know. All the time.Wishing you the best!
Ha Ha. Probably because I'm an ornery old man who doesn't kiss (removed). Or maybe it's that everybody in the whole world except me is wrong all the time. You folks all have Vibes, though, so you've already done at least one thing right.
