Cant seem to find a Gatorback belt

Post by cptnsolo77 »

Tried Advance, Autozone & Pep Boys....they all dont carry it. Just the Dayco brand. I didnt think the Goodyear belt was such a exclusive item LOL. Are the the Dayco belts that bad? I really dont want to go crazy looking for a belt, but if the Goodyear is that much better I will look around. I have a tensioner waiting to be installed. Any advice?

Try Amazon and Rockauto.com. They both carry the Goodyear belts.Use Gatorpart# when searching on Amazon.Compare for price & shipping costSometime Amazon has free shipping if total purchased is >$25 for qualifying items. In general Rockauto has lower item cost, but have shipping charges.

Thanks guys! but think I over-(removed)-ized what belt to use now. The Goodyear part # is 4060740 correct for the 1ZZ engine?

That looks about right. I usually get mine through Amazon, however I run a smaller belt due to supercharger and smaller pulleys.the 4060 part of the number looks right, and 74 would be its length....I think I have a 4060680 or around there

In my search for a new belt, it appears through various websites (amazon, parts stores), that:4060725 is for the 1zz4060740 is for the 2zzGoodyear parts look-up site:http://partfinder.veyance.com/I ordered the 725 off of ebay for $13.99, so I hope it's right.Current belt only has 64k on it, but has been on the car almost 8 years, so it's probably about due for replacement.

Glad you stuck to your conviction on the G'back. They used to be available everywhere and then one day .... not one of the big box stores had it. The Internet is your friend now.

63k miles on my base 2006. Looking to get a Gatorback soon (and a new tensioner eventually )As I understand it, I need the 4060725 because I have the 1zz. Correct? No SC or anything that would call for a different routing/size on mine.
Steelies to the rescue.
