Stopped by the toyota dealership the other day to pick up a intake manifold gasket for my 1zz 2006 vibe. When i got home from the dealership i realized i forgot to mention that it wasnt a gt model (2zz), so is this the right part for a 1zz?
I think you've got the wrong one!A quick google search for the part number 17177-0T020 says it's the intake manifold gasket for the 1.8 2ZR-FE for the 09-10 Vibe/Corolla/Matrix/XD and also the 2010 2ZR-FXE Prius.you need toyota part number 17171-0D020 http://www.dealerdirectparts.c...4.htm
Went back to the toyota dealership today and the parts guy told me that 17177-0T020 is the red, newer, thicker design for the 1zz and that 17177-0D020 was the older, black, thinner design also for the 1zz. He reassured me that it was the correct part.
My uncle (Toyota mechanic) told me about the new design for the intake manifold gasket. Something to do with it drawing up a little when it gets REAL cold out. It was causing an idling problem. I don't know anything about the part numbers tho.
my Toyota dealer got this in December for me for 1zz and had to wait 3+ days.part number 17171-0D020 As of then it was the latest. Anyone know absolutely for sure.. which is the latest gasket TODAY?

I got an intake manifold gaskeet from my Toyota dealer a few days ago and it is part number: 17171-22060. Made in Japan. It is sort of a rust orange color. They said it is the only part number available to them for an intake manifold gasket for the 1zz engine.
wow dealer by me ---ain't too swift. I tell him 1zz engine and he says he needs a VIN number. I tell him they are ALL THE SAME...corollla Matrix. He hates his own parts system. So the bulletin clearly states the 17171-0D020 is outdated. Now I'll purchase that orange one.17171-22060. Made in Japan . Yes,. It also follows the bulletin from 2007 . Now after the earthquake and sunami in Japan. Hope there's no issue getting it. This explains a lot. The dealer took 4 days to get it. I guess he was getting a discontinued part and the Toyota system does NOT "update". LASTLY, it better fix mine for good in the cold temps. It's warming up here and a final test may be 6 months away. Cannot believe I actually want cold weather. Thanks again.
