"Exploded view" of front wheel well/bumper underpinning plastics?

Post by Psychobroker »

Hi Everyone - it's been yet another long time for me away from GenVibe, but my GT is going strong and I'm taking care of her, which always brings me back To that end, the plastic underpinnings/protection that attach to the front bumper and trail back to under the il pan are going to hell in a handbasket ... and quickly. Basically, it's been a slow death that began with the wheel well plastics a couple years ago. I have the passenger side wheel well liner, but none of the tabs/fasteners, and now need the driver's side, and also all of the plastics UNDER the bumper/oil pan + fasteners.I wouldn't know where to find such an "exploded view" of this area, and need some guidance on where best to source them all (including fasteners). GMParts direct has long since been way overpriced, and there's no local Pontiac dealerships.Anyway, thanks in advance for taking a stab!PS I will also be posting sale threads for an Blue AEM CAI that fits the '03 GT (of course) and I think I'm finally going to sell the brand new Psychovibe bodykit front FENDERS I've been holding onto all these years... I just see myself repainting the whole car anytime soon, but perhaps another member will Thanks .

Sorry I don't have an exploded view of what you are looking for. Do you just really need the plastic fasteners that hold the plastic liners in piece? Not sure I understand exactly what it is you need... Welcome back by the way!

Thanks for the WB!In addition to the fasteners, I need the driver's side wheel well liner and whatever attaches to it. I also need the plastic protector under the oil pan. Thanks!

welcome back! Mmm those fenders.... yea other than online i dont really know where youd be able to find all the plastic shields for the front undercarriage and clips/screws maybe a toyota dealer ship might carry some if not all what you'd need. though there might be some in decent shape in a junk yard somewhere....

Dont even bother with buying the fasteners ! Pick up some plastic cable ties. ( I call them zip ties) Loop them through the holes, yank on them with a needle nose pliers to make sure they are tight & you are done. I used them in a couple of places under the car where the fasteners broke off & its been fine ever since. I had a wheelwell liner that was begining come off & i found some small nut and bolts that fit through the hole. I also used some lock washers ( the one that have the teeth on them ) so they woulnt vibrate loose. If u want to get crazy you can file the threads down so the nut wont fall off. Just a suggestion cause most car guys usually have cable ties laying around the house.

Wolf - you are da MAN! If I don't find one at a junkyard tomorrow, I'll order the driver's side liner:http://www.partsgeek.com/catal....htmlI just need to source the fasteners.EDIT: Ok, found a view of the BASE slash guards through Trademotion/GM partsdirect, but like Carson Toyota's trademotion catalogue, they don't have an image for the XRS/GT versions, because they do vary. I don't need the radiator splash guards, but I do need the fasteners... should I assume they are the same? They should be..Vibe Fender Liner view:Matrix (a few less parts pictured):

I've picked up fasteners at Autozone to replace missing ones. Probably your cheapest option. They don't sale them specifically for the Vibe though. You just get ones that look like they will fit and push them in.

Holy Thread-surrection!

I'm in need of these fasteners for the undercarriage shield... and my local Autozone doesn't carry the right size (only found panel retainers that ended up too large). Anyone have a Toyota part number, or a size to look for? I'll be your bestie if you even have a link :D

I picked up a pack of Dorman part #799-140 Nissan/Toyota panel retainers, and while not a perfect fit, they are fitting and holding the shield in place :)

Sharing the part # for future reference!
