just curious what the gt redlines at...... as i am only the owner of a manual base vibe and do not know the thrill of this "lift" experience.... i understand that the lift doesnot kick in till 6k rmps.... my base redlines at 6.5k ... that doesnt leave to much room to play if it is the same as the gt... does it??
The GT can rev quite a bit beyond that. I've taken it to about 8000 RPM a couple of times.

The rev limiter is set around 8100 to 8250. I have hit a couple times. I try and shift right before it, maybe around 8050 rpm.The base Vibe does not do the same thing when you hit 6000 rpms. The peak horsepower (180) in the GT is at 7600 rpm and peak torque (130) is at 6800 rpm. However in the base, the peak horsepower (130) is at 6000 rpm and the peak torque (125) is at 4200 rpm. You will not get that "lift" feeling that a GT gets. They are two different motors.I hope this helps.

The 2ZZ motor in the Vibe GT has a redline of 8200 and a fuel cutoff of 8350rpm. I hit it all the time.
