Rooftop Cargo?

Post by Kappy »

I'm curious to know who has utilized their roof racks, and what kind of cargo container are you using?Pros and cons to any? How have they stood up in the weather?

i've used the cross bars, They are rated for something like 150lbs and carried 100lbs up there with no issue.I haven't needed to use a car top container yet.

We bought a Thule Sidekick and used it on a 3 week camping trip out west last summer. Plenty of room for two three person tents, canopy, 3 collapsible chairs(in bags), and assorted smaller gear. Drove through a couple of heavy rains in the mid-west, with no water intrusion. Very happy with it. Pic's can be seen here. Scroll down http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=34035or just go to the GenVibe garage and look under the "Team Envy" postings.Cheers!
