03 Vibe GT ECU into an 04 Vibe GT

Post by RWatters »

I've been doing reading over on MO on this topic but the threads don't tend to have a lot of information about it. It's just randomly brought up and then dropped. Granted I'm not a member so I can't take full advantage of their search function (I've been using Google as the search tool). Am I understanding it correctly that swapping out the ECU in my '04 Vibe GT (manual) to an ECU from '03 Vibe GT not only lowers Lift by 300rpm, but it also disables the air injection system? And it's all CEL-free? If that is the case, will I need to remove the air injection system or can I just leave it as is and it'll just leave itself dormant? If this has been discussed a million times please feel free to flame away. I tried searching on here and couldn't find much on it.

I've never heard this topic before. swapping out the ecu should only take a few minutes so if you have one give it a shot and see what happens! Is the air injection system driven an electric pump or driven by the engine?

well if you find out this works let me know. I removed the air system and have yet to find a way to get the cel to turn off.
