help please...... one wiper not working

I'm 1000 miles from home and unable to look at this myself, so if anybody could help out, I would appreciate it. My wife said she was pulling on the passenger side wiper getting ice off it and something made a "pop" noise. Now the passenger side wiper only works "sometimes". The driver side still works like normal. I'll be home in a few days to (hopefully) fix it. Any idea what it could be? Obviously the motor still works (I'm assuming there is only one motor like most cars). Is there a transmission or linkage that connects the two that could have let go? Plastic gears that could be stripped? Any help is much appreciated! Not looking forward to driving 300 miles north in Michigan to see the family for Christmas with only one wiper!

Try tightening the bolt on the wiper arm. I've had them come loose on other cars from ice holding the wiper. Hopefully it's something this simple!
