bought the thin black door edge guard put them on all thedoor (u know the the wife and door dings)but they rub on the ft and rear door when you open the themhas any one there had better luck?
Yes, I have run into the same issue! When I bought my car new in August I asked the dealer to install the door edge guards as part of the deal. After a while I notice my back door squeaking, I put some white lithium on the door hinges and the squeak remained. Well, just today after sitting in the sun I noticed scraps on the front of the back door edge and sure enough the door edge guards are the cause of my problem. I will be removing them as soon as possible using a hair dryer to soften up the glue. I guess the factory made the space tollerance close on these vehicles, not a bad thing, but you cannot install the guards. I hope I can rub out the scratches on the edge because I do not want to get a new car doors repainted just for an edge. I've always used door edge guards but I'll have to get by without them. I have also been looking around for some decent bodyside moldings, but the dealer does not carry or the aftermarket parts I found have a tendancy to crack if they are hit by a door since they are PVC or the paint is not that great. If anyone knows where I can find a decent set, let me know. Thanks 2009 RED HOT METALLIC
those door edge guards are a rust catcher waiting to happen. Rust and road dirt gets in behind there and acts like sandpaper. In no time you will see scratches and rust forming with those door edge guards.my 2cents, take them off now before you do more damage than leaving them on.

Never understood them. Just be carefuly opening doors. People don't like big rubber streaks on their doors, nor do they like dents and scrapes. To me it kinda shows carelessness and I wouldnt be parking next to you.
