There may be post explaining how to change your rear blade insert, this one is a little different. One of my front wiper blades was starting to streak so I changed both my fronts. When I noticed the rubber was exactly the same dimensions as the back blade except for the length. So with a simple snip of the wiper that wasnt bad ..free blade.I know the Toyota one is only like $5 and the whole arm and blade can be bought for $12 but hey its free....sort ofFYI I dont think you can do this if your wipers are the beam typeFirst thing is to remove wiper from car.Lift up arm and twist the wiper blade 90degre to the arm. Then just wiggle it outNow the fun partsSlide inwards one end of the rubber until one end unhooksNow just pull the wiper rubber strait outRemove the metal rods that are in the sides of the rubberNow do the same on the old front wiperCut the rubber to the length of the back wiperSlide the newish rubber into the rear wiper leaving it hanging out a bit to make installing the rods easier then slide the metal rods back in. and your done just put it back on your car
Check the metal rods after a week or so of use, depending on where you cut the rubber the metal may creep out down the length of the blade. But nice job on the recycling!!!
Thanks GuysQuote, originally posted by star_deceiver »Check the metal rods after a week or so of use, depending on where you cut the rubber the metal may creep out down the length of the blade. I noticed on the wiper rubber where the metal tabs go one end is open the other end is closed so i just made sure i cut it so that one end has a closed end. But i think it would still hold if both ends were open.
