A few days ago my Vibe's stereo stopped displaying the MP3 track name all the time and now only shows it when the Info button is pressed. I am pretty sure we didn't press anything to make it happen, it just stopped showing them. I dropped it off at the dealer and they said it was operating normally. It just seems to be acting funny. Also, I swear the track number used to stay there when the volume was being changed but now it doesn't. If there is anybody with the same stereo that would be willing to compare notes with me? Thanks!
Not sure, I know that I have mine set to do a scroll of the name and artist when I have XM on, but sometimes it randomly goes back to the default settings anyway and I have to re-do it. I know it's not *exactly* what you were asking, but just wanted to say that sometimes it does quirky things like that.

Thanks for the quick response. Now that you mention it, The radio station text is missing too. What do you do to get your text info back when yours goes back to default?
You beat me to it Michelle But I have another question sort of on this subject. Is there any way for these stock radios to scroll the information "left to right" when the title or artist exceeds 16 characters? This is a real nuisance since our Sirius dock in the house scrolls EVERYTRHING. When the artist name is VERY LONG, you can't see it all in the Vibe. Same with the song title This feature (or lack thereof) is nice where present. Is there a way to activate this feature????
Are you using the same CD that you used before to display track names? Not all CD's will, not ones that are purchased from the store.. I burn my through iTunes, and there is an option to burn the names to the CD so they show. Also, radio stations around my area, if the reception is not "crystal clear" then it will stop displaying. As far as volume, everything disappears except where it says VOLUME and then has the bar that fills up or down according to how loud you turn it up.. To check to see if its just the FM station, if thats what you are meaning, that is messing up, switch it over to XM. It will ALWAYS display the name of the station. If you don't have a subscription, it will still show whatever the free station is 001 I think..My radio too resets itself.. I got tired of changing back all of the time so I just left it be..
Yes, this is the exact same CD that only a few days ago was displaying the track name. All of the CDs I burn used to show the info, and now none that I have tried do. I took a couple of pictures and will post them in just a second...
One last one of a particularly fun and twisty road in California shot over the dash. Notice the song title is displayed, but it is not in the info mode (the tagging icon is visible.)

I've looked for this functionality too and couldn't find it. My husband's G6 GT can't do it either, which is LAME (actually, our interface overall is wayyyy better than the one on the G6, so I am happy about that)

Good choice of words for something that SHOULD have been incorporated into our radios I meant to mention that in my Wife's 2009 G8 GT, for as big of a display as the radio has, it too does NOT scroll any radio info. We almost exclusively have the satellite stations on in both of our Pontiacs so AM & FM rarely get played. It would at least be nice to know all info on a song when it is played and not limited to 16 characters
I had this problem with my radio too. well may not be the same problem, but I'll share my experience. I actually have a post out on this forum about it.I had created a few MP3 Cd's, some songs would show the info others would only display a number or 3 strange characters. Someone on the forum mentioned that the ID3 tags need to be V1 only. If there are any v2 or higher ID3 tags the song name will not show. You may want to try and recreate the CD and strip all the ID3 v2+ tags out of it ans see if that helps any.
I just got home from a rather long road trip and the somewhere in those 2500 miles the radio started working correctly again. This is the exact same MP3 CD as the previous pictures. The track name is now displayed, the word volume is back and it says MP3 again above the track number on the info mode.
