Hi.. I'm wondering if anyone has come across this and can offer assistance... all of the 3 brake lights are not functioning.. on a side note, the license plate light is out too but that happened long time ago that I just never bother to replaced - now I was just told I have no brake lights at all..!Could this be a fuse or is it possible all 3 lights were burnt out? Or can it be something else.. When I get home today, I will try (first time) to look for and get at the fuse box to see if I can make sense of what's there.. Any help would greatly be appreciated...
Thanks for that tip - just googled it and i will take a look first thing tomorrow... assuming the connection is good, is there a way to test if the brake light switch is dead - I'd hate to go buy a new one to find out it has the same problem...thanks for the help..
I'm guessing that the fuse and bulbs are good.Unplug the switch and bridge the connection with a piece of wire while someone watches to see if the brake lights come on.
The brake lights get power from the 15A STOP fuse, which is located in the under dash fuse block. From there it goes through the switch to the lights. Have you done any electrical mods to the car?
Ok.. so i checked the connection and it's good - disconnect and reconnected and still same problem - no brake lights at all.looked at the fuse box and switch fuses around - still same issue so fuses are ok...you mentioned how to test the fuse switch by manually doing the wiring the connector to see if the light will come on.. there are 4 metal "tabs" in the connector itself which of these do i connect?See attached picture of the connector and let me know which one to connect - thanks again for your help!!
So it turned out that ALL my brake lights are burnt out! I guess that would have been the easiest to check but I'm still glad I also checked the other stuff as well.. now I know how to find and check fuse and now I know where the brake light switch is!Thanks to star_deceiver and joatmon for your replies/suggestions/help!
