Serj22's Vibean "Vivian"

Post by Serj22 »

So, I'm just reserving a space. This is where I will put my mods. Same thing happened with the Cr-v, same thing happened with the civic. I said "I will not modify this car, it is a family car"... then 2 or 3 weeks go by, maybe a couple months then I pick out where all my electronics will "fit" and what needs to be done. I have a problem. This was my 2002 Cr-v when I got it: And then $7,500 later... I don't know what the heck happened. It was supposed to be the "family" car, and eventually only wound up having just 2 seats and becoming a track car. Go figure. [IMG]My audio was and always will be stealth and custom made by yours truly. the vibe is no different as I work on my rear quarter box for a 12" Audiobahn 16lb Solid aluminum piston woofer... the same one in that photo. You never let good subs go. So that's just one of the cars I spent too much money on. Oh and then the Civic... and the Jimmy... and the Silverado... and the Sunbird... and the 912, and the A6, and the Beetle...Anyway, plans for our 2004 Base Vibe to be taken out gradually:1. 6th gear2. Hurst Shifter - Done3. Paint stock wheel covers till gold wheels can be purchased - Done4. Remove all emblems, make them gold - (just back emblem, looks good)5. New amp under the seat, 400watt - Done (taken out, and opted for larger amp in trunk)6. New amp in the trunk, longblock 2,000watt under rear panel - Done7. Subwoofer box8. Cold Air (ordered, coming in this week)9. Supercharger10. Metal pedals - Done11. New better clutch12. Better fog lights13. Viper GTS blue paint (just like my Cr-v)14. Lowered15. Sway bars, front and back16. No more engine covers, painting the actual valve cover17. Full exhaust and headers18. Tint19. Full thick muscle car sound deadening (If it silences a boat motor, it's good)20. Upper and middle spoiler21. Carbon fiber hood22. Something else... it'll come up when I see itThat's just the way life works I guess, and those are just the ideas I had earlier this week...I'll have some pictures the second I can get my camera's battery to not die 10 seconds after I unplug it... ugh...

Holy jeeze. I have been super busy. I just moved from Washington back to California, living in the bay area again. I have done a few of my mods on the list, namely, painting the hub caps gold, painting the rear pontiac V gold, and putting in the hearst shifter. I have also wired a sub and amp as is customary on my cars. The amp is under the cargo lid, on the right side, had to do some cutting of "invisible" plastics (stuff you can't see) to mash a 1,000 watt amp back there, but it's hidden, and I decided to go with banana plug connectors in the trunk on the left plate that covers the strut tower bolt access. It looks spectacularly clean. Invisible amp, but making a small box for my 12.25" piston. Will be good.

Really working on trying to get this camera to transfer pictures over. Need to find an inexpensive card reader instead I guess. You'd think I have one laying around but no. Sorry guys. I did not expect such a foul up. I can take crappy phone pics, like the one in my sig, but they do no justice as you can see. In other news, my Matchbox 2004 Pontiac vibe arrived in the mail. Going to mate the body to a zipzap and have a mini remote control vibe for playing with.

Sorry bout the wait guys, finally snagged a $20 card reader which I thought was expensive for a cheap looking piece of plastic, but oh well. Got some pictures for ya. First up, favorite shot so far, before I got the license plates from the dealer. And before I did the gold wheel fascia, but still good:The day I left Washington and drove 800 miles back to california. Also the only day it snowed. I drove the vibe 30 miles per hour, through oregon and washington in blinding, deep snow, took 20 hours. no chains either. Pontiac was a champ.Hurst shifter, metal pilot pedals, and my old pioneer stereo. I have the ipod rear USb'd and sitting in the bottom storage bin under the shifter. (Did I mention I do car audio as well?)making sure there was voltage in the wires and test placing the amp, wires hadn't been cut yet, ignore my mess.Gotta have a clean install, so on top, I rigged two banana plugs soldered to the speaker cable above the strut tower, the plate is very replacable so I didn't feel bad drilling two holes in it. Also easily serviced, or switched to the other side of the car if need be. It's our family car, so I wanted the sub to be quick-disconnect.My piston woofer, that is going in. 16lbs of pure awesome. DVC, solid aluminum, no plastic anywhere except the housings for the speaker wire screws. New paint job just for fun, will do nicer one later. That's about it for now, till I get some good daylight to take better pictures, intake still hasn't come in, but I'll get to that when it does.

Now got the Cosmo intake in, took about 45 minutes. This car was simple. The only difficulty I had was the red hose hanging off, I thought it went somewhere, but it was completely unecessary, the original vacuum line reattached right to the nipple. I spent 15 minutes trying to figure out why the red hose was there, only to scrap it and call it extra junk. The shield on the bottom was cut from previous owner (no idea why) so I was able to slip teh second pipe and filter right down through the hood, around the fender, and right in place, I did not lay on the ground, or remove the bumper or wheel well liners ever. I am awesome. bask in my amazingness.Ignore the red hose, that came off, it ran perfect the second I reinstalled the battery, idles around 800 like it did. Works great.

Hey I saw a SC on your mod list and BlueCrush has a New in the Box Supercharger that will bolt on that car with no problem. A new one is very rare and at a great price (Dealerships selling new for over $3000)! Used ones....well it depends on the user. If they changed they oil, ran a smaller pulley or just beat the snot out of it. May want to consider it soon.

Thank you for the heads up, does it happen to have the map for the computer to run with it? or do I still need that, also waiting on a new job for that kind of thing, but if someone has one... that's hard to pass up... I'll think on it... Still waiting for someone to jump in and tell me if anyone's done a 6th gear addition to the base tranny. But thanks for the info, also to your IM, my wife and the little one are doing great. We went to our storage unit today to get her stroller and she got a car ride on the way and fell asleep immediately and stayed that way for 3 hours which is the longest she (or we) have slept in a few days.

I would just suggest getting a GT transmission. Probably less work, since you wouldn't have to open up the transmission, just replace it.As for the supercharger, I think it comes with everything, plus some aluminum pulleys. Good to hear about the little one! How's she settled?

It's a COMPLETE kat. All you need is some tools, can of spray a gasket (copper) and cooler plugs. It has a piggy back ECU with the wiring harness and does get any easier than this for about 50 hp (30-35% hp increase). I can e-mail the instructions if you'd like. Also can give you a few tips also. It took me and a buddy about 8 hours to install and have running (not including beer, cigar and potty breaks) LOL The six speed would need to be a swap from what I understand. But not really sure. You may want to check out MatrixOwners.com for more info.

She's settled down pretty well, she likes being out of the hospital for sure and I think we can get about 2 hour naps inbetween her being hungry, so that's good. AS for the tranny, I guess that will be easier, I usually just put a 6th in a transmission if needed, but never thought of just putting a 6 speed transmission in... most cars it just wasn't available, like my old Cr-v. But anyway, did you see how much the member wanted for the SC? I couldn't find it.

$2000 --> http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=43366How's the new mom been? We've gotten your POV, and we know how the baby is doing, so how is the new mother?

She's doing a great job really, she's got a little PPD, crying and wondering how we're going to support the baby even though I make tons of money and we've never had an issue. But I can assume almost everyone would go through that wondering how they take care of another person now. She knows everything about how to change diapers, feed a baby, etc... but once she was the mom, she seems to be very new to all of it. It's strange, but she's re-learning very well and fast. Otherwise she just told me that she wanted to quit her job so she could be with Nikita all day, and didn't want to leave her after she got to spend the last couple days with her. I'm all for it, since her income is just for her to spend money on stuff she wants, it's not supporting us in any way, and I think it would be wonderful if her mom got to "babysit" instead of a babysitter, ya know?
