Stabilitrak is rare in first generation?

Post by kidmann »

Hey guys,I have been looking for a 2006-2008 Vibe with stabilitrak since May, so far I found nothing, let alone a fair deal.Is the option really rare in the first generation?I am from Toronto Canada if that matters.

Those really added a lot to the cost. In 2009 all of that became standard with little increase in cost. That and a smokin' deal is what got me interested in the 2009 I bought to replace my 2003.

I see. The thick c-pillar in the second generation really bugs me though.

Is the option actually very expensive? Someone told me it's ~$500. Which is not a lot considering the metallic paint cost you something like 150.

Which is not a lot considering the metallic paint cost you something like 150.The 2008 base (a/c std) had a msrp of $16,810Add Antilock brakes $525, 6 airbags $745 Stabiltrack $495, total $18,575 (plus $585 destination)The 2009 base with a/c plus std features of antilock brakes, 6 airbags, Stabiltrack had a msrp of $16,260 (plus $585 destination). That was a net decrease of $2,315. What the 2009 did not have vs 2008 was roof rack, fold down front seat and rear window glass that opened. What people end up buying has as much to do with what the dealers order as what the buyer wants. Antilock 4 wheel disk brakes were somewhat common but I never saw many Vibes with optional additional airbags or Stabiltrak. Buyers seem to be more interested in something like moon and tunes than these safety features. With AT, moon and tunes, monotone, and all those safety options the 2008 got pretty expensive.
