Warm idle - Is this a problem?

Post by Grouger »

I just bought a 2003 pontiac vibe GT with 250000kms. What I am noticing is that the car idles anywhere from 1.6 to 2.1 rpms with it usually hovering aroun 1.8-2.o rpms. This happens at startup but also when the car is warm. I notice my air system seems to affect it but sometimes turning the air on makes the rpms drop and sometimes it makes them increase.Any ideas?

Welcometry cleaning the IAC valve and the MAF sensor. Then also if the air filter hasn't been changed recently, change that as well
