Accessing the washer fluid reservoir

Post by bigj7489 »

Hi all,So, I had a rat get up under the hood (2006 Vibe) and gnaw on a few things. Fortunately nothing expensive - but my washer fluid leaks now. I think I actually have a hole in the reservoir itself, unless there's a hose at bottom that would drain similarly.Wondering how/where I get up under there to look? Is it behind the passenger wheel well cover?

Remember when the washer bottle was mounted on the inside fenderwell and the pump was usually mounted beneath it? Well, it ain't that way any more. And this is an improvement in modern engineering? Seriously, you will have to remove the splash shield underneath and then the front bumper cover to access the washer bottle. It's time consuming and a bit of a PITA, but not really all that hard.

Front bumper cover...hmm. Using your pic of your Vibe, can you tell me which "piece" that's going to be?If this involves taking the whole front off my buddy here, I think I'll live without washer fluid.

yes it involves removing the entire front bumper... honestly it's very EASY to do... my guess is either the tank has a hole in it where it got chewed and is now leaking or the pump isn't seated correctly anymore in the tank and is now leaking at the seal.
