Installed Tein H-Tech springs (pic heavy)

Post by lovemyraffe »

Rear spring comparisonBeforeAfterDropped about 1.4" in the rear and about 1.5" in the front. The ride is great and it handles amazingly.

Very nice Jared! Perfect looking drop. It'll settle a little in the next week or two. Then get your alignment checked. Love your Home Depot front lip, btw.

Thanks Brian. I kinda forgot about the front lip. I'm hoping it doesn't settle too much, that would be way too low. My b-i-l came over to help me with it. After it was done and all put back together his first reaction was, "Wow, it looks much less 4x4ish."

Nice looks good. So did you get the alignment done too? I drove around for a couple hundred miles after putting lowering springs in and then went in for an alignment. It was a huge improvement!

I'm planning on getting the alignment checked after a few weeks. I want it to settle before I get it done.

I drove over 100 miles today and there is a difference in ride quality vs. stock. The stock springs did much better on surface streets, while the H-Tech's are much much better on the freeways. The better handling is worth the sacrifice in ride quality on the surface streets.

I believe the front lip is a Home Depot special! I picked up a similar garage door seal from Lowe's and hope to add the same during the spring (along with finally getting my fog light bezels and splash guards put on).
