I don't know if I should use the crossover supplied with the new speakers and hook up direct to the just the woofer output on the amp and then the tweeter to the crossover. Or use the factory amp crossover/amp and bypass the new component speaker crossover.to utilize the factory amp with an aftermarket HU, you'll need a LOC (Line Output Converter) You MUST use the supplied crossover with components, it's designed for it.. the factory amp doesn't have any sort of crossover on it, the factory 6.5/5.25"s run full range... The factory tweeter has a cap on it to block the lows.. IF you us an aftermarket HU, a lot of them come with crossovers built in anymore.. This can be used to help remove some of the lows from the 6.5/5.25"s to help protect them.. using a High Pass crossover, set really low (50hz) can remove everything from 50hz and down, to protect the mids.. (they can't produce it well anyway)My preference is to use the component speaker crossover but if the factory amp/crossover has an internal crossover for the front speakers then the new speakers will not get any HF. The tweeters do have a cap attached to them which leads me to believe that factory crossover is external but then the drawing shows separate outputs.see aboveAlso I noticed that the front door speaker was labeled 2 Ohms, which is kind of strange for a factory amp, 4 Ohms is standard. Maybe the woofer and tweeter are being driven by a single amp and the total load of the factory woofer, tweeter and crossover is 4 Ohms?Not that strange, a lot of factory systems run like this, gets more, out of a smaller package, but it also means that if you run anything 4ohm YOU WILL GET HALF THE POWER...!!!
