Having some A/C intake part problems

Post by Srs042 »

Hiya everyone, I'm a Vibe newbie, just bought a use '03 Base model a couple of weeks ago, and I've been having a problem with water dripping onto the passenger side floorboard. After taking a look at the Haynes manual & looking under the hood, I realized that the part pictured below was missing on the pax side. My question is: What exactly is this part called and where can I find a replacement without having to go to a Pontiac dealership?

First off WELCOME!!Many will chime in for you to post a picture or two or three of your car. They LOVE pictures!!!! make them happy.Look in a Junk yard.But.....That part is NOT what keeps water out of the passenger compartment. That simply stops the oily water that passes over the engine from fouling your windshield.Water inside indicates a clogged drain hose or a drain hose removed from the AC unit in the car.Look close to the tunnel hump right up against where the passengers left foot would go if pushed all the way forward towards the fire wall. Pull the carpet back, you'll find a hose. They are easy to knock off and it often happens.here is a forum with some photoshttp://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=41779If that is on and clear, check the drains on the entire fresh air system, they drain low into the engine compartment, usually have a rubber tip on them to prevent air and debris from being blown in at highway speeds.Good LuckDave
